Patios & Paving Done Right
Patios and paving for Redondo Beach homes — concrete pavers, brick patios, natural stone walkways, driveway pavers, and pool decks. Proper base prep (excavation, base rock, sand, edge restraints) is the difference between a patio that lasts decades and one that shifts in a season. We do it right the first time.
How We Work
Site walk, design, permit, build. One crew chief from start to cleanup.
1. Design and material selection
We walk the area, talk through pattern (herringbone, running bond, basket-weave), paver or stone choice, and color. Bring samples to your house.
2. Excavation and base prep
Excavate to the right depth, compact subgrade, install geotextile fabric if needed, lay and compact crushed-rock base, then a leveling sand bed.
3. Set, cut, and finish
Lay pavers or stone in the chosen pattern, cut perimeter pieces, install edge restraint, sweep in polymeric sand, compact, and final clean.
When You Need Patios & Paving
A new patio or paved surface is the right call when:
- You’re building out the backyard — patios anchor outdoor furniture, dining, and fire features.
- Your old concrete is cracked or settled — pavers don’t crack the same way concrete does; if one moves, you reset it.
- You want a paver or brick driveway — drives better than concrete or asphalt, and any repair is invisible.
- Walkways and side yards — defined pathways turn unused side-yard into useful space.
- Pool deck — pavers stay cooler than concrete and won’t crack from pool deck movement.
- Front entry or porch — a brick or stone entry adds curb appeal and ages well.
We bring paver and stone samples to the site so you see the color in sun and shade before you commit. Call: (310) 651-7257

What Affects the Cost of Patios & Paving
Patio and paving pricing is per square foot installed. Depends on:
- Square footage. Larger jobs get better per-foot pricing because mobilization is fixed.
- Material. Standard concrete pavers are the most affordable; brick is mid-range; natural stone (travertine, bluestone, flagstone) is top-tier.
- Base prep depth. Driveways and high-traffic surfaces need a deeper base than a low-traffic patio.
- Pattern. Running bond is fastest. Herringbone, basket-weave, and circle kits take longer to lay.
- Demo and disposal. Removing existing concrete or pavers adds labor and dump fees.
- Edge work. Curved edges, step-downs, raised borders, and integrated planters all add to the cost.
We quote patios and paving flat-rate per square foot — base prep, edge restraint, polymeric sand, and cleanup included.
Frequently Asked Questions
Pavers or stamped concrete?
Pavers cost more up-front but win on repairability — when one moves you reset it. Stamped concrete cracks like any slab and the only fix is patching or replacement. For a 20+ year surface, pavers.
Will weeds grow between the pavers?
Not if we use polymeric sand and the joints are properly swept and compacted. Polymeric sand hardens like a flexible grout and blocks both weeds and ants.
How long does a paver patio take?
A typical 300–500 sqft patio is 5–8 working days. Driveways and big pool decks can run 2–3 weeks.
Do you need a permit?
Patios at grade usually don’t. Raised patios over 30 inches, retaining walls integrated into the patio, and driveways near setback lines may need a permit. We’ll tell you up-front.
Can you tie into an existing patio?
Yes. We match paver size, color, and pattern, or use a contrasting border to bridge old and new cleanly.
